Obituary
Margaret passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, with her family by her side.

Margaret was born July 23, 1939, the second of four children born to Oscar and Melba Thiessen. Her first five years were spent at Webb Ridge, before moving to the family ranch in Tammany. She enjoyed an adventurous childhood keeping track of her three brothers. Margaret graduated from Lewiston High School in 1957 before moving to Tacoma to attend nursing school at Pacific Lutheran University. Upon earning her degree in 1961, she moved to California to begin her career in nursing.

Margaret later returned to Idaho, where she married Lewis Roberts on April 20, 1963. They welcomed their son, Scott, three years later. Throughout their life, the family lived in Washington, Arizona and Minnesota before retiring back in Washington near family.

Margaret's life centered upon a consistent theme of caring for others. From her career choice as a nurse, to helping care for her aging parents, to years as a Tri-State Memorial Hospital Auxiliary volunteer, just to name a few, her focus was always upon giving to those around her. Margaret loved to travel and enjoyed many vacations with friends and family. She particularly enjoyed biannual reunions with her college classmates that continued even through their retired years. She was also an avid reader who was routinely donating boxes of books she had just completed reading. Margaret was incredibly proud of her son and loved being a grandmother; she always had pictures and stories to share. She was lovingly known by her grandchildren as Grandma Meg and, to her youngest grandson, Grandma Egg. Margaret will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Lew Roberts; son Scott (Stacy) Roberts; her grandchildren, Allison, Tyler, Carson and Ryan; and brothers Gene Thiessen, Merle (Louvette) Thiessen and Bob (Joyce) Thiessen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Melba Thiessen; and sister-in-law Judy Thiessen.

In honor of Margaret's request, no services will be held. Condolences for the family may be sent to the Mountain View Funeral Home online guest book at www.mtviewfuneralhome.com  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tri-State Memorial Hospital Auxiliary's Scholarship Fund at P.O. Box 636, Clarkston, WA 99403.
