Lois May Dailey Payne, 69, of Lewiston![]() Lois Mae Daily Payne, 69, a longtime Lewiston resident, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Tri-State Memorial Hospital. Lois was born May 3, 1939, at Los Angeles, to Melvern Lawrence and Violet Mae Boisbert Daily. She resided in California until moving to Lewiston at the age of 5. She attended Lewiston schools and graduated from Lewiston High School before attending Lewis-Clark State College. Throughout her life, she worked as a nurse's aide at various places. Due to health reasons, Lois moved to Orchards Rehabilitation and Care Center in 1993, where she resided until her passing. While living at Orchards Rehabilitation, Lois enjoyed playing bingo and attending church. Lois is survived by a son, Lance J.K. Payne; daughter, Charity S. Curley; granddaughters, Kimberley Dawn Curley Elwell and Shannon Nicole Curley; and great-granddaughter, Eliza Jane Elwell. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Normal Hill Cemetery with Sister Margie Schmidt officiating. Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. The family would like to thank the staffs at Orchards Rehabilitation and Care Center, Tri-State Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for their kindness and care for Lois over the years.
