Andrew Keith Popenoe

Andrew K. Popenoe was a 26-year veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam war.

Andy was born in Kent, Washington, moved to Clarkston, Washington, and joined the military after high school.

He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant and the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Base Commander in Dec. 1983 from Travis AFB. He was on the board of directors of the Travis Credit Union for many years.

Andy was an avid skeet and trap shooter and had multiple world records. He was also the president of the Travis Skeet and Trap Club for many years.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Brian Ferrante of Morgan Hill; son, Eric Sanders of Fairfield; and grandchildren, A.J. Ferrante, Tori Ferrante and Liam Sanders.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and May Popenoe; and siblings, Mildred, Marlene and Jack Popenoe.

Andrew’s memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2022, at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, California.
