 Jolanda Schmidt   Jolanda Schmidt Munson

On May 8, 2025, Jolonda Munson peacefully completed her earthly journey and entered into the eternal joy of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was 86 years old and surrounded by the love and prayers of her family at home.

Jolonda was born on December 15, 1938, and raised on a farm in Wolf Point, Montana. In 1946, her family relocated to Lewiston, Idaho, where she would spend most of her life. She attended Lewiston High School, and it was there that she met the love of her life, Douglas Munson. Their 70 years together was a beautiful reflection of Christ’s love—steady, sacrificial, and full of grace. Together, they built a family that honored God, raising their three children— Tammy Bringle, Sheree Herrmann, and Stephen Munson—with wisdom, love, and truth.

Jolonda’s faith in Jesus was her foundation. She was a woman of Scripture, of prayer, and of peace. Her home was a place of refuge for many, filled with warmth, kindness, and the kind of wisdom that only comes from walking closely with the Lord.

In the last thirty years of her life, Jolonda faced the trials of blindness and later dementia. Yet even in suffering, her grace and inner strength never wavered. She endured each season with dignity and trust in the Lord, continuing to teach those around her what it means to live and finish well.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Douglas; her children, Tammy Bringle (husband Brent), Sheree Herrmann (husband Rob), and Stephen Munson (wife Kristine); her 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and many others who were touched by her life, her love, and her faith.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Jolonda’s life was held at Sequim Bible Church June 1st, 2025

Though we feel the weight of her absence, we take great comfort in knowing she is now fully restored and rejoicing in the presence of her Savior. The race is finished, the faith is kept, and Heaven has welcomed a faithful servant home.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful servants.”
— Psalm 116:15
