Donald Wayne Lloyd, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025, in Tucson, Ariz. Born in Spokane, he was raised in Lewiston and graduated with the Lewiston High School class of 1957.

A US Navy veteran who served aboard the USS Ranger CV-61, Don went on to a 30-year career with IBM after receiving technical training.

He married Shirley Jean Johnson in 1966 and settled in California, later relocating to Tucson in 1982, and back to Lewiston in 2003. In November 2004, he married Delia Carpenter, with whom he shared 19 loving years.

In retirement, Don enjoyed weekly breakfasts with his Class of ’57 friends, worked on inventive projects — most notably, a hydrogen-fueled engine — and cherished time with family. He spent his final months in Tucson, surrounded by loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delia, his son Kevin, and grandson Allen. He is survived by his daughters Yvette Blythe, Tonya Toon and Vanessa Lindskog; nine grandchildren; and siblings Richard Woltering and Bonnie Vandevender.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 4, in Tucson, with a graveside service to follow in Lewiston on a date to be determined.
