Calla Ann Demean passed away Aug. 23, 2013,
at her home in Lewiston. She was born Oct. 9, 1937, in Kamloops, British
Columbia. When she was 3 years old, the family moved to Long Branch,
Ontario, and lived there until 1947, when the family moved to Idaho.
Calla graduated from Lewiston High School in 1957. She worked for
General Adjustment Bureau in Lewiston until 1983, then transferred to
Boise. She retired from G.A.B. after 43 years in 2000 and moved back to
Lewiston, where she remained.
Calla's passions were her family and bowling, and she was in several
leagues over the years. She passed quietly in her sleep at home after a
lengthy illness.
Calla is survived by her sister, Rosaline J. Smith, and brother John F.
Demean, both of Lewiston; her niece, who she treated like her daughter,
Tammy R. Lupinacci; honorable grandkids Brandon L. Pitts and Shyann M.
Pitts, all of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in
death by her father, Fred J. Demean; mother J. Ruth House (Palmer);
sisters Mildred V. Johnson and Laura C. Lupinacci; and brother Donald A.
Demean.
Graveside services were held at Vineland Cemetery in Clarkston.
