A graveside service for Bobby Dean Lautenschlager of Lewiston, retired
owner and manager of Blue Mountain Agri-Support, will be held at 1 p.m.
Saturday at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens at Lewiston.
William V. McCann Jr. will officiate.
Lautenschlager, 57, died Monday at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center at
Lewiston of a degenerative skin disease and Lou Gehrig's disease.
He was born to Harry and Pauline Bafus Lautenschlager at St. John,
Wash., July 13, 1939.
He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1957, and then worked at the
family farm equipment business, Lewiston Oliver.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1959, serving in Mississippi,
Colorado and the Philippines.
He returned to the family business in 1963, then worked for Canyon
Equipment. He worked for Tomlinson Real Estate before he purchased Blue
Mountain Agri-Support at Lewiston. He managed the business until ill
health forced him to retire.
Jan Roeder and he were married Nov. 14, 1987, at Asotin. An earlier
marriage to Jan Kelley ended in divorce in 1983.
He was a member of the Elks, Moose, Craigmont American Legion and the
Classic Chevy Club. He enjoyed motocross and stock car racing,
snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, restoring Chevies, spending time with
grandchildren and summers at the couple's cabin in Winchester.
Survivors include his wife at the family home, a son, Dean M.
Lautenschlager of Lewiston; a daughter, Tara L. Lautenschlager of
Lewiston; two stepdaughters, Moreesa S. Sandquist and Jaclyn R. Roeder,
both of Lewiston; two stepsons, Bruce S. Carlson of Fairbanks, Alaska,
and Aaron J. Carlson of Boise; a brother, Kenny Lautenschlager of
Lewiston; a sister, Bonnie Spencer of Lewiston; and five grandchildren.
Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home at Lewiston is in charge of arrangements.
